Jourdan and Matt’s were married at the Wellshire Event Center in Denver, Colorado. They hoped for a sunny, Colorado day with trees blooming and clear views of the mountains. However, the day of their wedding, the weather forecast didn’t look promising. It rained on and off throughout the day, shifting from downpours, wind, and cloudy skies to sunshine and unbelievable lighting. In between downpours, the thin Colorado air dried out the sidewalks, allowing us to get photos that looked like the sunny day they had in mind. Then, just as we finished the last of the family portraits, the wind and rain kicked it up again, and we had to make a break for shelter. With the help of an amazing and flexible venue coordinator, we managed to shift our schedule to use the best of the light and weather and capture a wedding collection that could have been taken in perfect weather.

Enjoy! Here’s a shot of everyone running for cover after the rain polished off our family portraits. Got to love Colorado weather! Luckily, the ceremony was planned for inside, so there was no relocation complication. That really could have thrown a hitch in this wedding day plan. Isn’t this ceremony area exquisite!?! It’s so light and airy with the all white draping and the white ceremony chairs. This shot actually happened out of necessity. As I mentioned, it was very rainy, and this section of ground hadn’t quite dried out yet. Matt willingly helped Jourdan over this patch of muddy ground, and we captured a real wedding day moment. It looks classy and doesn’t require you to buy anything additional, as long as you have a mirror that’s the right style for your reception. I absolutely love the way Jourdan mixed the soft blues and pinks together with the greenery. I’ve never seen this combination of wedding colors before, but I can’t get over how well it came together! There’s just something about these walking into the distance shots that I LOVE! They look like they belong on the back page of a wedding album.
