“Our first date was at the Cheesecake Factory. We were Seniors in high school and split the Orange Chicken (is that weird I still remember that?) I think after that we went to his dad’s house and stayed up pretty late laying on the grass and looking at the stars.”

“The most attractive thing about him is his motivation and drive in everything he does. Whether it be work or a household project, he does everything with all of his effort. This totally translates into our relationship because he is always willing to do anything for me.”

“One of my favorite memories was from when we were 17 before our Senior year of high school. We were on vacation in San Diego and we both thought the other liked to run, so we kept asking each other to go on a run down the boardwalk. Eventually, the last night we were there, we ended up running together. I’m pretty sure we ran 2 or 3 miles even though neither of us liked to run. At the end of the boardwalk, we sat on the pony wall near the ocean and I remember thinking for the first time “wow, I really like this guy.”

“Our engagement is definitely the most memorable time he surprised me. I told him not to propose in Montana where we went on vacation with my family every summer, because it would be ‘too perfect’ and I would definitely know it was coming. One night after dinner, my dad asked Chris and I to go on a walk. I politely declined, but Chris and my dad insisted. We walked around the loop of my grandparent’s neighborhood while my other family members set up the picture frames and other items Chris was using to propose. I remember walking to the backyard and being so shocked and thinking ‘wait, this is really happening right now.’ “

“I am most excited to marry him because he is my absolute best friend. I can’t wait to have an adventure partner for life and someone who knows all of my fears and dreams for life. It makes life so much easier to know that I have someone to laugh with for the rest of my life.”

Courtney says she’s the lucky one because, “Throughout my time in graduate school, doing a clinical internship, and working part time, Chris has never failed to take care of me. He truly understands what it means to love, support, and respect me in all aspects of our life. I have never felt like I have had to do something alone. I can’t wait to marry him so I can reciprocate the support and love he has constantly shown me. “

I asked Chris to tell me a little bit about Courtney, and here’s what he had to say:
“My favorite date would have to be going to the Compass Room, which is a revolving rooftop restaurant in downtown Phoenix. Not only was it amazing to see the entire city with her by my side, but I had always wanted to go here and I couldn’t be happier that I had Courtney as my date.”

Chris says the most beautiful thing about Courtney is “Her stunning blue eyes.”

“My favorite memory would have to be when we went on our first trip together to Disneyland. We had planned it for the end of the school semester so we could both have a break and get away from everything. During this trip is the first time that I told her I loved her and that makes it even more special.”

“One of the most exciting surprises I think I got from Courtney was when she planned out a cruise for us to go on for Spring Break. I was not expecting anything like this and we got to spend some great alone time with each other at sea.”

“I think the nicest, most thoughtful thing that Courtney has done for me would be the countless hours she helped me a variety of schoolwork throughout college. Whether it was editing my papers or teaching me how to solve a math problem she was always willing to help me no matter how busy she may have been. This was really important to me because I don’t know how I would have gotten through the program without her help and constant support.”

“I honestly knew that she was the one when I told her I loved her (which happened to be within a few weeks of us starting to date). By that time I had already realized that she was so much different than any girl I have ever met and that I could see myself being with her forever. We may not have talked about it at this time but I was absolutely thinking it.”

“If I had to pick one reason why I am the lucky one (it’s not easy just picking one) I would say that I get to spend my entire life with the most thoughtful person I have met in my entire life. She puts me before anyone else and always is doing little things to remind me that she is thinking about me.”
