Sam + Diane’s Gilbert LDS Temple Wedding | Gilbert Wedding Photographer
Happy Wednesday! I have a beautiful wedding to share with you this morning! I photographed Sam + Diane’s Gilbert, Arizona LDS Temple Wedding a couple weeks ago. The temperature in Gilbert and the entire Phoenix area had finally cooled down, and I felt lucky to be working in great weather. I met Sam and Diane through Sam’s brother Nathan, whose wedding I photographed in January. In case you’re as into checking out family resemblances as I am, here’s a link to that blog post. It was so much fun to see their whole family again, including Nathan and Erin!
I asked Sam and Diane to share some of their story with me. Here’s what Diane had to say:
“His involvement in music is what drew me to him, and still does everyday.”
“Anyone that knows Sam, knows he has devoted his life to music. I love sitting on a piano bench next to him. We never know what either of us will end up playing, but I love being a part of making music. Or at least experiencing the process up close.”
“For my birthday, he had collected videos of my closest friends and family saying nice things about me. He sat me down and presented it perfectly. He didn’t mention any of it – I was so shocked, and I absolutely loved it.”
“We drove 2 hours to go up to the Rim for a day trip, we brought lunch. It was a rainy weekday. We found this hidden lake, surrounded by forest. It was just gorgeous, stunning, and glorious fresh crisp air. And there were no other people around for miles. Such a great day.”
“Sam opens my doors, keeps me protected and safe, and makes music for me constantly.”
“I respect Sam’s devotion. He devotes everything he has. To church and God, to family and friends, to music and career. And he is completely devoted to me. I see it in his eyes everyday.”
“I am excited to have him by my side always. I’m very excited to know that music will constantly be a major part of my life.”
Diane says shes the lucky one because “I try to take care of Sam. And I think for the most part I do okay (we all try to improve). But Sam has taken care of me since day one. He sets me up for success and helps me most when I’m not necessarily giving myself the attention I need. He adores me, for all that I am, good and bad. He sees all the potential I hold and helps me be a better person. I’m blessed every day to have him be mine.”
Here’s what Sam had to say about Diane:
“…We love going to concerts (classical music concerts) and eating ice cream. The BYU Singers were on tour to Arizona and we went to see them sing in Queen Creek for our first date, got ice cream, and then played piano at her house. The night we got engaged we went to the Hollywood Bowl to see the LA Philharmonic play music from West Side Story, it was a great night. “
His favorite memories are “Concerts, ice cream, road trips, and parking the truck on the back roads by the Gilbert Temple and just sitting together and talking in the the bed of the truck while eating ice cream.”
Sam says he’s the lucky one in this relationship because “One of Diane’s greatest talents is serving and helping others. It is one of the first things that attracted me to her. She is always serving and helping others, and is always serving and helping me.”
