Kristin + Brian’s Cliff House at Pikes Peak Wedding | Manitou Springs Wedding Photographer

Kristin and Brian were married at the Manitou Springs Cliff House, a vintage hotel at the foot of Pikes Peak.  On the day of the wedding, the leaves were just starting to change, but the weather could not have been nicer.  We completely lucked out with the best of fall weather.  In fact, two days later, a snow storm swept through!

Kristin and Brian are high school sweet hearts, which meant that they’d had this day in their future for years.  When Kristin’s dad got up to toast the couple at the reception, he said that he’d “like to welcome Brian to the family, but I can’t do that.  You see, I’ve considered Brian a part of our family for quite a few years.”

Enjoy!

I asked Kristin to tell me a little bit about Brian.  Here’s what she had to say:

“Brian and I first met in high school, we shared some common friends and often sat at the same lunch table. He had long black and blonde hair and wore tight skinny girl pants!”“The first time we ever hung out was in my parents basement, and we watched the television series The O.C. together with another friend. After that we began talking more and more. I remember really getting to know him when he was visiting his father’s house for Thanksgiving, since his father lived in a different town we would talk over the phone for hours. He was unlike any boy I had ever met.” “One of my favorite dates with Brian was when we went to see the musical Wicked. My parents had gotten us great tickets for my high school graduation, and we got all dressed up and had a wonderful dinner and night.”“The most attractive thing about Brian is his kind heart, he always seems to know what to say and how to make me feel special and loved. He takes care of me when I’m sick, surprises me with little gifts or flowers when I’m upset and is always there to make me laugh and smile.”“My mother offered Brian the diamond she was proposed with to use for me, and not knowing he was intending on using it, I ended up telling him how it was too small and I wanted a BIG diamond! I thought I had ruined my chances of being proposed to, as he got upset and told me he was planning on using it to propose to me on my birthday until I complained about it. On my birthday coming home from work I was talking to my Aunt (Thea) about how I blew it, I ended up walking in to candles surrounding the floor, flowers, our special song playing in the background and Brian down on his knees. He said I deserved my own ring and asked for my hand in marriage. I was so surprised that I was still on the phone with my Aunt as it was happening until she finally made me hang up!”“One of my favorite memories with Brian was when we went to Ohio together and I was able to show him where I grew up, my childhood and where my dad grew up. It was so special and something I always wanted him to see, I will always hold that memory dear to my heart.”“Another one of my favorite memories with Brian was the first time we went to the Renaissance Festival. I was wearing a little sundress and flip-flops and of course it started to pour rain. It was coming down so hard that the dirt walkways were flooded and turned to mud. We were running to the car, but I couldn’t keep up, next thing I know I am over Brian’s shoulders and he is booking it to the car. By the time we got out of the rain I was covered in mud, soaking wet and looked like a drowned rat!”“For Christmas a few years ago I came home from a terrible day at work to find a surprise from Brian laying on our living room floor–a little black puppy with a big red bow around her neck. Though I was not thrilled at the time, I completely fell in love with our puppy and she has become such a huge part of our family I cannot imagine life without her!”“One of Brian’s quirks is that he puts ketchup on EVERYTHING! I think it’s adorable.” “One of the sweetest things Brian always does for me is tuck me in bed, every night I know he will come in, tell me he loves me and give me a kiss.”“The thing I respect most about Brian is how protective he is for his family and loved ones, there is nothing he would not do for them.”“Brian has the kindest heart, he always does the right thing no matter how hard it may be. His drive to succeed in life and to be the best person he can amazes me each day.”“Brian impresses me daily, one thing that really impresses me is his musical talent, he is able to play several instruments, make his own music and even sing!”“After being together for eleven years, I am so excited to finally be able to call Brian my husband.”Kristin says she’s the lucky one because: “Brian spoils me, he always does little things to let me know how much he loves me.”I asked Brian to tell me a little bit about Kristin and here’s what he had to say:

“I saw Kristin often in high school. We hung out in similar circles. I always had thought she was beautiful, way to pretty to be hanging around with us, but I never had the nerve to say anything to her. We would say hi to each other in the hallways but she was way out of my league for me to try and say anything further.”“Kristin and I went to high school together and one day at the end of the day a guy she had dated tossed her keys over a railing and they got stuck in a place that was hard to reach. I do not remember exactly what I did but I managed to get the keys back for her and after that we were together.”“We did not really have a first date. I had come over to her house with a friend and it was more or less love at “first” sight. Although we had seen each other and known each other, the first time we got together out side of school revealed sides to each other that were attracted instantly.”“My favorite date was taking my youngest brother to the aquarium. It felt good to do something with her, the women and my love, and my brother. It was a bonding experience I will never forget.” “The most beautiful thing about Kristin is her heart and soul. She is a lover. She sees the brighter side in anything. I often joke with her and tell her she lives in a world of unicorns and rainbows but it is that very world that she lives in that makes me love her so much.” “Over the eleven years we have been together we have made countless memories together. Everyday I spend with her is a favorite memory to me.”“Kristin hates surprises! She cannot keep a surprise a secret if her life depended on it. There are always little things that she surprises me with here and there, but Kristin and surprises–for as long as I have known her–have never gotten along. “Kristin is more or less a quirk all day everyday. If I had to pick a quirk that I really love I would have to say it would be all of the various voice tones she uses when we are playing around. She has this attempt at a scold voice when we are joking back and fourth that is the funniest, saddest attempt at harshness anyone could ever have.” “When Kristin smiles her lip curls just like her YiaYia (Greek for grandma) she hates it but I adore it. If we can add that I would really appreciate it.”“Kristin has loved me through dark times, good times, happy times, sad times, hard times, embarrassing times, funny times and any other time anyone could ever think of. Loving me all this time is the nicest thing she has ever done for me.” “I respect Kristin’s ability to be peaceful and loving everyday.”

“Kristin’s personality is sweet, forgiving, loving, and graceful. She has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever had the pleasure to know. Her love is my favorite personality trait and there is an abundance of it to love.”
“I knew Kristin was the one almost right away. I had never met anyone with the heart the size of hers, and I admired it. She radiated with love and compassion, and I never wanted her to leave.” Brian says he’s most excited to marry Kristin, “Because it is about time. I have loved Kristin with all my heart for the entirety of my adult life. I cannot imagine a life without her. I am overjoyed to finally make it official and be able to call her my wife. She has not been my girlfriend for a very long time. I have always loved Kristin how a husband should love his wife, making it official…it is about time.”Brian says he’s the lucky one in this relationship because, “Kristin loves me no matter what. If I have had a bad day she does anything she can to make me feel better. She is giving, generous, compassionate, and my best friend. I have never loved anyone or anything as much as I love Kristin, and I am lucky because I know, as certainly as the sun will come up in the morning, that she feels the same way.”
